A US therapist who works with disabled people says a police officer shot and wounded him as he lay on the ground with his hands up after he went to the rescue of an autistic patient who had wandered off. 

Video purportedly of the incident shows 47-year-old Charles Kinsey lying on the ground with his hands up next to his 27-year-old patient, who he said he was trying to calm after he walked out of a nearby facility.
