Supreme Court Adjourns Karpowership Suit To July 28

The Supreme Court has adjourned to July 28 its ruling on a suit filed against the Attorney General over the Karpowership agreement.

The Member of Parliament for Juaben South, Mark Assibey Yeboah, filed the petition praying the Supreme Court to determine the constitutionality of AG’s position that the deal with the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) did not need parliamentary approval.

Per the agreement, Karpowership was to build an emergency power barge for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to ease the power challenges in the country.

The suit first came to light when the MP for Effutu, Alex Afenyo Markin, who filed the suit of behalf of, Mr. Assibey, announced the matter on the Floor of Parliament.
