Mallam Issa Slams Akufo-AddoDescribes Him As 'Dangerous And Anti-Muslim'

Former Sports Minister, Mallam Ali YusifIssa has descended heavily on NPP flagbearer exposing what he describes as Akufo Addo’s true character after serving in the Kufuor Administration with him [Mallam Ali YusifIssa] when the NPP won power in December 2,000.

According to Mallam Issa, Akufo Addo is as he put it ‘a pretentious dangerous leader’ whose actions have compelled his own friends to desert him. The former Sports Minster told Accra based Radio Gold that Nana Addo, as leader of the NPP is on record to have threatened his colleagues perceived as not loyal to him. “You people don’t want me to win election, wait let me become President and we shall see,” he quoted Nana Addo as saying.

He added, “Not even an opponent but members of his own party. Can you imagine what he will do if he is elected President?”

He went on further “The mess going on in the NPP under his watch, has he been able to address them, yet he is going out there campaigning we should make him President. My friend I cannot sleep like somebody said if Akufo Addo becomes President of Ghana. He is going to destroy this country. He has already destroyed the enviable NPP Kufuor left for him, and that’s the truth”

Mallam Issa, who was jailed over a missing 46,000 dollars he was carrying on his way to Sudan for a Black Stars African Cup of Nation’s qualifier said his personal experience gives him enough appreciation of the character in Akufo Addo.

What do you think could have been the reasons for which a former Attorney General would want to prosecute one of his own for monies that he did not use for his personal gains?

Tribalism, divisiveness, setting up one religious group against the other, confusion in the country is his trade mark.

“Akufo Addo is tribalistic. This man gallivanting in Zongo communities and northern areas canvassing for votes with wild promises is the same man who stood against Rawlings when he said on the floor of Parliament that the Moslem community is a small one and do not deserve a national holiday to mark a holy day, [that is Idir Fitr and Idhl Adha ] on their religious calendar,” he explained.

Mallam Issa, who has now joined the governing NDC, lamented about Nana Addo vow to use him as guinea pig to paint the then NPP government as committed to fighting corruption, by ignoring all pleas and promises to pay back the missing money.

“We have some people they are very good and clever pretenders and Nana AkufoAddo is one. Popular TV presenter, Kweku Sintim Missah alias KSM, my own younger brother Abedi Pele were prepared to pay the money. Even my Kingdom, Kusasi Clan at Bawku was prepared, but he [Akufo Addo] was not prepared. He was just interested in jailing me”.

The outspoken former Sports Minister also accused Akufo Addo of being arrogant. He alleged that Nana Addo never respected late Vice President Aliu Mahama.

The man is only using Muslims, he opined.

“One perfect example is my late brother, Aliu Mahama. Akufo Addo never respected him. I can say it on authority. Even when he was sick, when did Akufo Addo visit him at home before he passed on?
This is the type of person I am talking about. For him it’s just sheer hatred and disrespect for the northerners. As for Bawumia, they are only using him like pink sheet. Why didn’t Akufo Addo himself go to court? They put the disgrace on “You and I were not there’, aka pink sheet,” he argued.

He noted that NPPs game is to use northerners just to win votes and sideline them in government. He made reference to how suspended Chairman Paul Afoko has been dumped by Nana Akufo Addo’s team.
He predicted more confusion in the NPP as the 2016 Presidential elections campaigns peak.

On corruption, he said former President Rawlings, who is trying to whitewash Nana Addo’s image is not privy to many things.

“Rawlings knows little about Nana Addo, the missing diplomatic passports at his office at the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Look one was found with his brother-in-law, Raymond Amankwa who made time in Brazilian prisons for drugs found on him. He was not entitled to diplomatic passports. Where are the missing passports? They were supplied to cocaine boys, drug dealers,” he alleged.

What is more corrupt than this? He asked.

“The purpose for which Raymond took that passport, the implications are more dangerous than the operations of 1,000 armed robbers,” he said.

Mallam Yussif Issa also took a swipe at National Women’s Organizer of the NPP, Otiko Djaba for endorsing the attack of the EC Chairman, Charlotte Osei.

He dared her to go ahead if she [Otiko Djaba] wants to be exposed.

“I have lived with her in the same neighbourhood. And I know the rooms she entered. She should dare”!
