President Mills Man Burgled

A Schedule Officer at the Office of the President, Ludwig Hlodze has had his car broken into by unidentified persons who made away with two suitcases and another bag belonging to Trade and Industry Minister, Hannah Tetteh. The burglary happened at about 3:30pm Thursday in the vicinity of the Gold House in Accra when he stopped briefly to deliver a message. Hlodze told Myjoyonline he had stopped for less than five minutes by the very busy Patrice Lumumba Road and walked only a couple of meters to knock on the house of a family he was to deliver a parcel to, only to return to see the car emptied of the contents. The two suitcases, he said, contained mainly items he had received from Ghanaians abroad during an European tour with President Mills recently for onward delivery to relations back home. He had gone to knock on the door of one of such intended recipients only to return to the horrific disappearance of the items. One of the bags also contained his personal items, including a diary, a digital camera, security passes and other documents. He counted himself lucky because under normal circumstances, he would have carried his laptop along. On this occasion, he said he had left it at the office because he would be travelling with it on Friday. It happened in a flash, he recounted, and said the Airport Police had been to the scene to take the vehicle away for investigations.
