GIMPA Gets A State-Of-The-Art Moot Court

The first state of- the-art moot court for the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has been launched.

This development was made possible by an alumnus of GIMPA who is the executive chairman of the McDan Group of companies, Dr. Daniel Mckorley.

In his speech, the CEO OF McDan group of companies, Dr. Daniel McKorley said that it brought him joy to see the project a success adding that it was important that young legal professionals be equipped with necessary skills to ensure that they become the best in helping the nation maintain its Freedom and Justice.

He noted that the moots court mimicked the settings of a court and would be used for the purposes of teaching.

He indicated that it will provide students an opportunity to gain courtroom experience, which will enable them to build their presentation, argumentation and communication skills.

He however hoped that the Moot Court will help promote legal education and improve the judiciary and legal systems in Ghana.

Dr. McKorley urged the private sector and other benevolent individuals to come into the support projects like this in the academia.

The Chief Justice, Georgina T. Woode, and the Rector of GIMPA, Professor Franklyn Manu commended Dr. Daniel McKorley for his generosity towards humanity.

They both in their recommendations, indicated their beliefs that the moot court will be of much help to encourage and facilitate learning of law in the institution.

Dr. Markorley was given a citation as an honour for his selfless gesture for the betterment of the institute and the country at large.

Dr. McKorley`s benevolence is displayed in the many support he has given to varying sector, most notably tennis sports in Ghana.

The event was graced by many dignitaries including: the Chief Justice and all high court judges, Chief and Queen of the Aburi Traditional Area, Staff of McDan group of Companies, the law students of GIMPA and other invited guests.
