Police Give GH 2,000 To Widow

The police Administration on Friday presented GH2,000 to Rafa Iddrisu, the widow of the Policeman who committed suicide after killing his two children and mother-in-law.

The money, presented by Director, General Welfare, Deputy Commissioner of police (DCOP) Bright Oduro, who led a delegation to console her, was to help Rafa cater for her immediate needs while investigations into the matter and processes to provide her with other support were being worked on.

Presenting the cash, DCOP Oduro, said the presentation formed part of the police administration’s welfare packages for victims of such unfortunate situations.”

“In times like these, we are committed to supporting her with this money to enable her cater for her immediate needs,” he added.

 To enable her to recover from the shcok, DCOP Oduro reiterated the Police Administration’s commitment to subsequently support the widow, adding that the administration would go as far as offering her psychological help.

He indicated that the widow was being monitored closely by the police for security reasons.

It is recalled that two weeks ago, Lance Corporal Winfred Dodzi Amuzu of the Regional Rapid Deployment Force stormed a house where his estranged wife live and killed his two children Elikem Amuzu, one year and seven months, Zorlali Amuzu, three months and mother-in-law, Mary Quarshie, 62.
