The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women's Organiser for Lower West Akim Constituency in the Eastern Region, Comfort Boadu, 40, has died.

According to reports, she complained of constipation and was rushed to the Asamankese Government Hospital on Tuesday night. The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue pending autopsy.

Constituency Communications Officer, Abdul Rahman told DAILY GUIDE that the party was shocked to hear the sudden death of Mrs Boadu who died on Wednesday.

According to him, the deceased, who left behind a son and husband, was expected to address a forum on Thursday ahead of the general elections.

He noted that the party members stormed the family house of the deceased to console them when they heard the news.

Mr Rahman added that the doctor at the facility had not disclosed the cause of death.

“Her death is strange; people threatened to kill her and we suspect so, but it cannot be confirmed. I met her on Tuesday evening and we had a chat. I later heard she went to buy Indomie and complained of constipation after consuming the food,” Rahman disclosed.

It would be recalled that DAILY GUIDE last month published a story that the Asamankese Police Command had launched a manhunt for Adu Agyei, the Campaign Manager of Shirely Naana Ampem, the NDC parliamentary candidate for Lower West Akim Constituency for allegedly threatening to kill Mrs Boadu.

According to the Police source, the Campaign Manager for the NDC Parliamentary candidate called Mrs Comfort Boadu after a programme and threatened to kill her if she dared mentioned the name of Ms Frimpong on any political platform.

Mrs. Boadu reported the matter to the police who invited Mr. Agyei, but he failed to show up and disappeared.

Abdul Rahman noted the party would hold a meeting on the matter and subsequently issue some statements.
