Cape Coast Set Agog...As NDC Launches Campaign Today (VIDEO)

Hundreds of supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress have started arriving in Cape Coast for the launch of the party’s campaign for the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Miniature flags of the ruling party are all over electric poles on all major streets in Cape Coast as the party gets ready for their campaign launch.

The campaign will be launched today (Sunday) at the newly constructed 15,000 capacity Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Some of the NDC bigwigs arrived at the venue on Saturday afternoon to gauge the mood and monitor preparations for the event.

Campaign Cordinator, Kofi Adams has been at the venue ensuring hitches to the programme, if any, were reduced to the barest.

Hundreds of vendors including food vendors, paraphenelia sellers and telecommunication operators have set up for business.

In the metropolis, young men were seen still mounting posters on poles.

The Vice President, Papa Kwesi Amissah Arthur on Saturday visited the venue.

Several ministers of state also arrived at the venue as campaign songs boomed from loud speakers.

The iChoose Mahama youth group of the NDC were also seen processing through the Pedu_Abura area.

Security and Security

Security personnel have been in and out of the stadium mapping out strategies while about 60 Zoomlion personnel have already arrived at the venue to help keep the venue tidy.

Campaign Theme

The campaign is being launched on the theme "Changing lives transforming Ghana", and is expected to highlight the achievements of the party.

Ahead of the campaign launch, there’s some controversy in Cape Coast over the decision of the traditional authorities to lift the ban on noise-making, which precedes the Fetu Afahye festival.
