It is clear that the 16,000 capacity Cape Coast Stadium is unable to contain the milling crowds that that have turned up for the campaign launch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Already some of the people are collapsing in the stands. Medical personnel deployed have been attending to those taken ill.

Authorities have been forced to open the reserved VIP wings of the stadium to enable supporters take up seats there.

Some journalists who had no seats in the scorching sun were seen running to occupy seats at the VIP wings when the gates were opened.

Thousands are still outside the stadium trying to get into the stadium.

By 8am, the stadium was about half full, a testament of the party faithful to be part of the event that begins the part's march to retain power.

It appears Cape Coast is under invasion as the Central Regional capital is bustling with massive activities.

Party supporters are restricted to the stands. Organisers want to protect the beautiful greenery turf of the magnificent stadium so no human activity would take place on the turf.

Meanwhile, miniature flags of the ruling party are all over electric poles on all major streets in Cape Coast.

The theme of the launch is “Changing Lives, Transforming Ghana”, and the event will also be used to outdoor the President and his Vice as the NDC's ticket for the December 7 polls.
