Rawlings Is Simply Afraid Of The Chameleon Type of NPP Allotey Jacobs

Central Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC], Mr Allotey Jacob says the opposition New Patriotic Party's [NPP] “chameleon” politics has put fear in former President John Jerry Rawlings.

According to the Central Regional Chairman of the NDC - Rawlings's call for the NDC to stay focused and not feel self-satisfied of winning the 2016 election was laudable.

“The former President was coming from that angle of the chameleon type of the NPP. He chronicled the formation of the NPP and the changing of their name to the present name of New Patriotic Party. Their diabolical character has caused fear and they have never changed,” he said.

Former President Jerry Rawlings warned the NDC against complacency as they go into the 2016 elections.

According to the founder of the NDC, the December 7 polls will not be an easy task since it will be challenging and very demanding.

“What is ahead of you will not be an easy task, it will be a challenge and demanding. Don’t allow undue provocation to create undue tension," he said.

Addressing the crowd at Cape Coast where the NDC launched its campaign for the 2016 elections, ex-President Rawlings warned that - “The NPP cannot be underestimated, they’ve been in existence for a long time and have been changing their name till this date, the nature of who they are, what they are, where they’ve come from is something they are happy with, and they will be there for a long time.”

“ . . The calculation of what and who they are . . . it is important that we fight this election on our terms and not their terms. Let us not mimic their behavior.”

Allotey Jacobs who sides with his party founder lamented that – “The NPP are full of lies. Untruthfulness is what they do. So the former President is warning us that we should not underrate their character and presentation. And that we should not fight with them on their own turf.”
