Osafo-Maafo: Ghanaians Are Suffering Under Mahama

Former Minister of Finance under the erstwhile Kufuor administration, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, has called on members of the New Patriotic Party to remain united and work harder to ensure a resounding victory for the party in the upcoming elections.

According to him, Ghanaians are desperate for change because of the hardship imposed on them by the Mahama government.

"There is a need for change because Ghanaians are suffering under the leadership of President John Mahama. The lives of Ghanaians are nothing to write home about. I cannot predict the fate of the country and how the lives of Ghanaians would be if the NDC wins this year’s election,” he added.

Mr Osafo-Maafo, who is also a founding member of the party, and former Member of Parliament for Oda in the Eastern region made the call during the one-week observance for the late Comfort Ofosua Buadu, former women’s organizer for the Lower West Akyem Constituency, who passed away earlier this month.

He said Ghanaians were looking forward for the NPP to save the country from the current NDC government that has brought untold hardship to the people.

He noted that unity is the only remedy for the NPP to fight for victory, adding that members of the party must also be vigilant in monitoring what goes on before and during the December 7 polls.

He further called on the public to pray to God to intervene in the upcoming general election to enable the NPP win power to save the country from the current crises.

Some of the NPP executives who attended the programme included Frank Annor-Dompreh, MP for Nsawam-Adoagyire; the regional chairman of the party, Kingsley Akumi Kissi; regional women’s organizer, Margaret Darko, among others.
