Kumchacha Blasts Police Over Obinims Arrest

The founder and leader of the Heavens Gate Ministry, Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha has condemned the police for treating Bishop Daniel Obinim as a ‘common criminal’.

According to him, the Man of God is innocent until proven guilty thus the police decision to parade him in front of the media is a violation of the law.

Prophet Kumchacha who was at the police headquarters in Accra with other pastors to sympathize with their colleague said the officers in charge must be sanctioned for the blunder.

Bishop Daniel Obinim is likely to spend another night in police custody after he was charged for defrauding under false pretence Tuesday by the Tema Police Command.

He was rounded up and sent to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for allegedly defrauding someone to the tune of GHS11.6 million.

Bishop Obinim has not been granted bail despite plea by his lawyer and church members who throng to the police headquarters to demand his release.
But Prophet Kumchacha expressed strong reservations about how the Man of God has been treated.

He said the police handcuffing a prophet of God for no apparent reason must been condemned in no uncertain terms.

“Obinim is a prophet of God so why should the police treat him like a common criminal; I’m really disappointed in the police” he fumed.

Prophet Kumchacha added that, he together with other prophets are working assiduously both physical and spiritual to get Bishop Obinim released.
