THE BOSOMTWE Constituency office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region was sealed off by angry branch executives of the party on Friday.

The angry-looking executives described the suspension of the party’s chairman in the constituency, Emmanuel De Graft Anokye, as illegal.

They consequently gave the leaderships of the party – both national and regional – a 48-hour ultimatum to reinstate Mr. Anokye else they would not campaign for the NDC.

According to the constituency executives who wore red arm bands, the closure of the party’s office was just the beginning of a series of grand moves to ensure the NDC’s defeat on December 7, if Mr De Graft Anokye is not reinstated.

Toffic Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of the aggrieved executives, said the misappropriation of funds allegation that was leveled against the suspended chairman had proven to be false.

“It must be put on record that the misappropriation of party cash allegation leveled against this honourable and hardworking gentleman is unsubstantiated, petty and lacks merit,” Toffic Mohammed noted.

He alleged that party gurus, like Dr. Joe Oteng Adjei, Alhaji Addai Minka (organizer), Hagar Osei (women organizer) and Alhaji Ayuba Mohammed (vice constituency chairman) were behind the suspension of De Graft Anokye.

Toffic Mohammed stated that the continual suspension of the party’s constituency chairman would massively reduce the NDC’s votes in the area and that would prevent the party from recording the one million votes in the Ashanti Region this year.

He said Mr Anokye had worked hard over the years to bring fame and honour to the NDC therefore, any attempt by the party to sideline him at this crucial moment  would spell doom for the NDC during the polls.
