The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, has advised members of The Church of Pentecost and the Ghanaian electorate not to vote for reckless politicians seeking their mandate to occupy honourable positions in the country.

He said the electorate must peruse the conducts of politicians aspiring to be elected into public offices before they vote them to occupy public offices.

According to him, any politician who spews reckless statements or promotes disunity among Ghanaian and incites the youth to perpetuate violence to secure political power must be rejected by Ghanaians.

“Such a person doesn’t even deserve the title ‘Honourable,’ you must not give that person your vote; because he or she does not have the wellbeing of the country at heart,” the national chairman advised.

Speaking during the dedication and naming service of James McKeown Memorial Temple at Asamankese in the Eastern Region, the chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Onyinah noted that, this year’s election is crucial to Ghana’s democracy and political stability, hence, advised politicians to refrain from reckless statements that may plunge the country into chaos.

He urged the youth to desist from being used as conduits to execute violence in order to ensure peaceful general election come December 7.

“Voting is a right and a privilege we have as citizens of the country which enables us to assess the performance of a ruling government within the stipulated four years and to decide whether or not to renew its mandate.

“It is, therefore, required of us as citizens to choose the right people to lead us. This should not provide grounds for fighting and conflicts among us.

We must rather learn to tolerate and respect each other’s preferred choice in order to have a peaceful election.”
