Suame Magazine Workers To Demonstrate Against Mahama Over Failed Promises

Some works at Suame Magazine are gearing up to demonstrate against President Mahama during his next visit to the place over failed promises.

In a statement issued and signed by David Adu Agyeman, a worker at the industrial village housing about 20,000 artisans, it stated that Suame Magazine workers are unhappy President Mahama hasn’t been able to fulfil a single promise he has made to them.

They are also expecting the president to apologize to them during his next visit.

Statement below

We have received notice of the president's visit to us at the Suame Magazine on his campaign tour to the Ashanti region.
We hope the visit is to apology to us for not fulfilling his promises to us as a unit rather than giving us further empty promises.

The president, prior to the general elections in 2012, made several promises to us and it is very unfortunate that he has not fulfilled even one of them. We wish to state emphatically that, we shall not take any promise from him unless he apologies to us.

We respectfully want to ask him these questions

1. Is he coming to tell us the same promises as he did in 2012?

2. What different promise is he coming to us with, aside the failed one?

3. Do you even care about us or know of our existence?

4. Throughout your 8 year tenure, have you ever inculcated us into your plans?

5. Do you only need our votes?

It's sad that the NDC and president Mahama have not fulfilled any of the promises they made to us, but, are shamelessly planning to campaign to us here.

Under the watch of President Mahama, these are what we have witnessed:

1. Low productivity, due to power interruptions (DUMSOR)

2. No support from the government

3. Collapse of our industry

4. Lack of political will to grow our industry

We want to know if the coming of president is to apologize or another gathering to hear his usual promises?

If we are to believe that he is coming here to campaign, then we will advise him not to come, because we will not listen to his empty promises.

We will show our displeasure and embark upon a peaceful demonstration against him should he not apologize to us as a unit for his failed promises!

We have suffered a lot under his government and what we only deserve is an apology from him and not his usual game of promises

Signed

David Adu Agyeman
