Four people including a 4-year-old-boy met their untimely death in a gory accident that occurred on the Tema-Aflao Highway near the Kpone Police barrier close to the Boost Depot in the Kpone Katamanso District in the Greater Accra Region.
The four—Ebenezer Akuaku, Eric Dorglo, 31, Ativor Christopher, 29, and Elikem, 4— died on the spot while a 2-year-old girl sustained high degree of injuries.
The accident was said to have been caused by Eric Dorglo, a driver of a Toyota Corolla unregistered with a DP Number: 1928A -16.
According to an eye witness, the Toyota Corolla, which was heading to Dawenya from Tema, tried to overtake a vehicle which was ahead of him and in the process lost control over the steering wheel.
The Toyota Corrolla, the eye witness continued, skidded off to the opposite side of the road, running into a parked fuel tanker at the road side, thereby killing the driver of the tanker.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) William Jabialu who confirmed the incident to Today recommended that portions of the road be redesigned to minimise the numerous accidents which have been happening on it.
The bodies of the deceased have since been deposited at the Tema General Hospital morgue, while the 2-year-oldbaby is in admission at the emergency ward of the same hospital. Today
