E. P. Church donates 20 computers

The Reverend Albert Y. Wurapa, a former Synod Clerk of the General Assembly of the E. P. Church, Ghana, has donated 20 computers with accessories worth GHC 3,000 to the Akpafu-Mempeasem L/A Junior High School. Rev. Wurapa, a native, domiciled in the United States, said this gesture was his social responsibility towards the improvement in the learning and teaching of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to children in the area. Mr Victor Wurapa, presenting the items on his behalf, said an American philanthropist, Mr Steve Sam, was the initial benefactor. Receiving the items, Mr Eric Bulley, Headmaster of the School, thanked their benefactors for their generosity and pledged that the items would be used for the purpose for which they were donated. He entreated other philanthropists, corporate institutions, non-governmental organisations as well as the Hohoe Municipal Assembly to assist the School to construct a modern computer laboratory, procure furniture and help connect it to the national electricity grid. Mr Bulley said currently the school operates from an improvised computer laboratory without electricity.
