Chiefs Threaten Mini Skirt Ladies

Chiefs of Awutu Bontrase in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region have threaten to flog ladies who will wear short skirts to the Bontrase Obia annual festival which took off on Saturday and ends with a durbar today September 6, 2016.

According to him, the traditional council would not spare any lady who wears short skirt to the durbar in order to parade herself to entice men, adding that those who would not adhere to the warning would be subjected to severe flogging.

He gave the warning during a clean-up exercise as part of activities marking the annual festival.

The clean-up exercise started around 6am and ended around 11am where choked gutters were desilted, selected areas weeded, swept and rubbishes burnt.

The Mbrentiehene of Awutu Bontrase, Nana Larbi hinted that the chiefs would lash ladies who would wear miniskirts, thus charging ladies with that intention to rescind the decision in order not to court the wrath of the traditional authorities.

He added that the chiefs would not allow the youth to copy negative cultures which are totally alien to the way of life of the people of the town and Ghanaians in general.

He emphasized the need for the youth to wear decent dresses since their outfit helps to identify their background as well as how they are trained.

He appealed to the people to unite so as to help expedite the development of the area.
