'Passion for the Needy' assists three Persons

Passion for the Needy Association, a Non Governmental Organisation, fighting the cause of the needy would soon start the construction of a training centre at Anomabo Pra-Ewusi in the Central Region. The 50-acre land for the centre, donated by Nana Ofori Okoh, Chief of the area, will be used to train the youth and the physically challenged in society. Mrs Janet El-Aschkar, Chairperson of the NGO disclosed this, when the Association donated an amount of Gh 500.00 to two visually impaired person, Ruth Aguure and Franklin Osei Opoku, to enable them to pursue a course in reflexology at the Parliament House in Accra. Reflexology involves the practice of massaging, squeezing, or pushing on parts of the feet, or sometimes the hands and ears, with the goal of encouraging a beneficial effect on other parts of the body, or to improve general health. Originating in Egypt and China, this ancient healing therapy utilizes pressure points in the hands and feet to stimulate corresponding organs within the body. This stimulation taps into energy resources, thus creating a balance of the body's energy. According to Mrs El-Aschkar, the donation forms part of the NGO's objective of training the physically challenged. The NGO also donated an amount of Gh 593.00 to Maame Ewurabena, a student of the Institute of Professional studies, Legon to pursue her Diploma course in Business Studies. All three beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the gesture.
