Sack NYEP Boss: NDC Youth Demands

A group calling itself the Concerned Tamale South NDC Youth is calling for the immediate termination of the appointment of Iddrisu Abdul-Hamid as Tamale South sub-metro Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme. The group is accusing Abdul-Hamid of using his office as a platform to build up his political ambitions which the group says is a clear violation of the law that established the NYEP. In a signed press statement, Mohammed A. Karim, Chairman of the concerned Tamale South NDC Youth revealed that Abdul Hamid who gunned for the position of Tamale South Constituency Organizer position issued fake NYEP forms to potential candidates in the run-up to the delegates congress and promised them employment. Mohammed A. Karim disclosed that Abdul Hamid in an address at the said delegates congress mentioned his intention of re-naming the Tamale South sub-metro outlet of the NYEP programme as Tamale South NDC-NYEP Youth office. He said even though Adam Mohammed Amin Abio, Regional Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme denied receiving instructions from the headquarters regarding fresh recruitment, the group intercepted copies of the fake forms signed by Abdul Hamid bearing similar serial numbers. Mohammed A. Karim said considering the magnitude at which the Tamale South sub-metro Coordinator of NYEP is doing politics with his position, the group believes his action is against laid down procedure and best practice. The group is convinced that Abdul Hamids unprofessional conduct is a typical example of his inability to alleviate the plight of unemployed youth masses in the Tamale South Constituency. Mohammed A. Karim therefore underscored the need to fire the Tamale South sub-metro Coordinator of NYEP than allow him to disgrace the ten months old NDC administration under the watch of President John Evans Atta Mills.
