Remedial Student Shot Dead

The Ho police are holding four persons over the murder on Wednesday night of Annie Mensah, 20, a remedial student at Power College, a private second cycle school in Ho. Mr Samuel Owusu-Berko, Ho Municipal Police Commander, told journalists that Mensah was believed to have been shot at close range in one of the classrooms from where she staggered out but collapsed and died. He said police had reports about some shooting and screams of a female at around 2300 hours and rushed to the scene. Mr Owusu-Berko said the police found Miss Mensah in supine position, dead in a pool of blood. He said the police followed a trail of blood drops from the dead body to the classroom where they found heavy blood stains on a desk in a corner on which was a Samsung mobile phone charger and three books belonging to Patrick Agbeve, 22, a student and principal suspect seen with the deceased earlier. The police are withholding the names of the three other suspects. Mr Owusu-Berko said police also retrieved pellets that could be fired from a locally made pistol at the scene of the incident.
