The Tema Circuit �A� Court yesterday sentenced Patrick Ken Larbash, the American paedophile who videotaped a number of young Ghanaian children sucking his manhood in a rented apartment at Adjomanikope, near Sege in the Dangme East District of the Greater Accra Region, to 25 years imprisonment in hard labour. Patrick was convicted on all seven charges and sentenced to 25 years each, to be served concurrently at the Nsawam Prisons. Reading the judgement, the Presiding Judge, Lorenda Owusu, mentioned that the accused was charged with one count of unnatural carnal knowledge and six counts of defilement. She noted that all the victims who appeared before her in-camera mentioned Patrick as the one who asked them to suck his penis and further mentioned that the victims told the court that the accused asked them to swallow his semen anytime he discharged into their mouths. The accused who arrived at the premises of the court in a taxi in the company of the investigator, Chief Inspector Ebenezer Kwaku Darkey, of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Tema Regional Police Command and another police officer from the Public Relations office, kept shaking his head as the judge read out his judgement, perhaps to indicate that he did not agree with the court�s pronouncements. Spotting his customary khaki trousers and white shirt to match, Patrick who arrived at the court as usual holding his right abdomen, perhaps to indicate how much pain he was in, kept taking notes when the judgement was being read. The judge told the court that the victims, one after the other during their appearances, narrated how the convict, Patrick, asked them to such his penis and sometimes sucked their vaginas in return and described the act as disgusting, adding that the accused deserved the punishment meted out to him. The paedophile was reported to have denied the allegation leveled against him throughout the hearing, maintained his stance when the judge asked him if he had anything to say before she pronounced judgement. He replied that there was never any occasion that he engaged his victims to suck his manhood and also denied that he never threatened to sack any of the victims who stayed with him if they declined to acquiesce to his request. A large crowd, who could not get seats in the court and had to stand outside to monitor proceedings, could not hide their joy at the sentencing with some of them openly telling Patrick in the face that he deserved his punishment as he was being helped into a waiting taxi to start his prison sentence. One of Patrick�s victims, who Daily Guide understood was not happy about what he was doing to them, told an elderly woman in the area who in turn reported it to some officials of the Women and Children�s Ministry which led to his arrest by DOVVSU of the Tema Regional Police Command. According to the eldest of the victims, who was allegedly brought from Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region, Patrick had already sold his refrigerator to cater for himself while in police custody. Patrick had claimed some of the children were �sold� to him by their parents for GH100 while he planned to �marry� others.
