A man believed to be in his 60s was crushed to death and his body dismembered by a moving train traveling from Nsawam to Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
An eyewitness who spoke to Adom News’ Ohene Asante said the victim, who was on board the train from Pokuase near Amasaman alighted at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Train Station and headed on the railway line towards Graphic Road by foot.
However, he said the victim lost his balance and fell right in front of the train just when it had started moving.
The eyewitness noted that, the train driver spotted the victim from afar and consistently sounded the horn even to the dismay of the passer-by but the victim ignored it and was crushed in the process.
The victim’s brain, he said gushed out of his crushed skull while his limbs and entire body were totally run over and dismembered by the train on the railway line at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
The incident attracted hordes of traders, hawkers, commuters and passers-by resulting in a gridlock.
Eyewitness say the accident was so gory that many onlookers found it very difficult to look at the dead man’s dismembered body and crushed head.
Son of the deceased told Adom News “A friend called me from the VIP bus terminal and invited me to come immediately to Accra for a message.
"I became suspicious and started calling my father because he had earlier told me he was going to town only to be informed about the unfortunate death” he cried.
