Black Maidens Stranded In Hotel

The Black Maidens are stranded at their Maresat Hotel in Accra upon their return from the ongoing Under-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan.

The group has been in Ghana’s capital since Saturday.

According to the Ghana FA’s management chairman of the team, Augustine Asante, this is due to lack of transportation to their various destinations.

“It is very sad we don’t have even transport to leave for our various destinations. So we won’t leave the hotel. We were promised before we left for Jordan of our qualifying bonuses, per diems and yet we have not even seen anyone from the Sports Ministry,” he told Starr Sports.

The U-17 female side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Korea DPR in the quarter final stage after the Asian side scored a 94th minute goal.

The Ghanaian delegation left Jordan on Friday, October 14 and made a transit in Dubai before arriving in Accra on Saturday and are still in the hotel.
