Employable skills training for the Disabled in the offing

The Atwima-Mponua District Assembly, has planned to provide employable skills training for physically challenged persons, to promote economic activities in the area. Mrs Theresa Adomako-Tawiah, the District Chief Executive, who announced this, said that the Department of Social Welfare has embarked on a study to assess the special needs of beneficiaries to determine the appropriate skills training programme for them. She was interacting with members of the District branch of the Ghana Federation of the Physically Challenged at Nyinahin. Mrs Adomako-Tawiah said the process of recruiting instructors has already started for commencement of the training adding that the assembly would do everything possible to help the disabled to live decent and dignified lives. She urged people to report Buruli ulcer cases to the hospital early to avoid deformities.
