The General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress, NDC, Asiedu Nketia, has called on sympathisers and supporters of the party to reject the idea of 'skirt and blouse' in the impending general elections.

He says skirt and blouse is not healthy in the country's body politic since it brings disunity to the party in question.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia, who is known in private life as 'General Mosquito', was addressing party's supporters at a campaign launch in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency in Bolgatanga of the Upper East Region.

He, therefore, sounded a stern warning that some party's activists, who persisted initiating skirt and blouse in the various constituencies would be expelled from the party.

"It's not everybody who is supposed to win elections. One must win parliamentary primary at a time. If you are a true NDC supporter, don't go the skirt and blouse way", he cautioned.

Mr. Nketia further urged all enthusiastic supporters of the NDC to endeavour to bury the hatchet and campaign vigorously together in peace and unison in order to give President John Dramani Mahama and the party's parliamentary candidate, Isaac Adongo a gigantic victory in the forthcoming December 7 polls.

According to him, should the president won the race with minority in parliament, he wouldn't effectively steer the affairs of the country, hence his call for all and sundry to disabuse their minds from the idea of skirt and blouse and rise up collectively to convass massive votes to enable Mr. Adongo get the parliamentary nod and also keep the Mr. Mahama's hopes of returning to the seat of the government, flagstaff house alive.

He said, " Bolga Central Constituency remains the stronghold of government. We have to become united and retain the seat.
"If you claim you like the NDC and the losers, lawyer Abraham Amaliba, Opam Brown who contested the last parliamentary primaries, then demonstrate that by voting for Isaac Adongo in the upcoming elections", adding with divisions, the party would fall in the forthcoming elections.

All the vanquished who contested the November 2015 parliamentary primaries in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, including renowned legal practitioner and a member of the NDC communications team, Mr. Amaliba and incumbent Member of Parliament, MP for the constituency, Mr. Brown, pledged to campaign rigorously for the party to retain the seat in the December elections.
