Former Independent Presidential Aspirant throws weight behind Nana Akufo-Addo

Kwaku Owusu Antwi, a former independent presidential aspirant, yesterday declared his total support for the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to Mr Antwi, his reason for throwing his weight behind the NPP flagbearer is the leadership crisis and abject poverty being experienced by Ghanaians under the Mahama-led NDC government.

At a press conference yesterday, he said he opted out of the presidential race after taking into considerations the leadership skills of the NPP flagbearer.

“I stopped the process of filing as an independent presidential candidate in order to throw my unflinching support for the NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo,” he stated.

“Many reasons informed my decision to back the incoming President of Ghana, 2017, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. In light of the fact that we have an appreciably array of personalities who could be worth the time, the exceptional man in this list of presidential hopefuls is the flagbearer of the NPP,” he said.

He added that the exemplary tolerance exhibited by Nana Akufo- Addo in the face of mass vilifications and vituperations uttered by persons like Hassan Ayariga, and the other paid propagandists of the NDC including Akua Donkor informed his decision to associate himself with the NPP flagbearer.

“Nana Addo is an epitome of civility, I am yet to come across any incident, whether private or public, that has involved him in any untoward behaviour, contrary to the lewd and indecorous accusations heaped on him by the NDC,” he said.

He told the media that the numerous overpriced projects going on in the country had become the order of the day and can only be stopped by voting President Mahama and the NDC out.

“Ridge hospital is the most expensive project ever in the country which costs the country $250 million by the NDC government, Western corridor roads are being overpriced and even with that the roads are deteriorating.’’

He ended by urging Ghanaians to police their polling stations on December 7 in order to ensure that the NPP wins the elections.
