Arrest Akontombra MP If Seen With NDC Paraphernalia - Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has urged supporters of the party in the Akontombra constituency in the Western Region to cause the arrest of their Member of Parliament if they find him with any NDC paraphernalia going into the December 7 elections.

His directive follows the decision of Hon. Herod Cobbina to breakaway from the party to contest the impending poll as an independent candidate despite several moves by the party to get him to rescind his decision.

The MP who has been in Parliament since 2005 lost the party’s primary to Kenneth Yeboah, and has since not been happy and has decided to take his destiny into his own hands to find his way back into Parliament.

However speaking during the campaign launch of the Parliamentary Candidate for Sefwi Akontombra, Kenneth Yeboah over the weekend, the NDC Chief Scribe tasked the Western Regional Branch of the party to ensure that it immediately retrieves all properties belonging to the party from their breakaway Member of Parliament, Herod Cobbina.

According to him, since the MP has decided not to have anything to do with the NDC, it will be wrong for him to keep any belonging of the party which may be needed for the use of the NDC going into the December 7 elections.

“I’m here to announce to everybody that Herod Cobina is no longer an NDC member, you cannot decide to leave the party and keep its properties. I’m asking the Regional Executives to take back any party property which is in the possession of Hon. Herod Cobbina. That is not all, if you see him with any NDC T shirts, posters or anything with party colours, please cause his arrest immediately.”
