Ghana and France Represents Great Political Tradition Of Social Democracy- VEEP

Vice President Kwesi Amissah- Arthur has stated that the Ghana and France government represents the great political tradition of social democracy. 

And that the two Presidents, continue to engage in consultations that have contributed to a convergence of views on many of the issues that confront the global community.

The Vice President kKwesi Amissah – Arthur made the statement on Saturday 29th October ,2016  on the occasion of  a state dinner held in honour of  Prime Minister  Manuel Valls of the Republic  of France, who was on a two day state visit to Ghana. .

He said their recent discussions have focused on bilateral cooperation, international peace and security and climate change.
The Vice President said Ghana and France have developed a relationship based on strong political, social and economic ties. And that the economic ties have grown steadily over the years.


The Vice President cited the inauguration of the Ghana-France Chamber of Commerce in 2014 and the visit of an important business and academic delegation from Paris and Bordeaux, earlier this year, has already resulted in deepened commercial ties between the two countries.

He said France is indeed, living up to its commitment to be a strategic partner to Ghana and it is encouraging, in this regard; that France intends to support some identified sectors of our economy with US$100 million, notably in the energy sector.

Mr. Amissah –Arthur said, given the peace, political stability and friendly investment climate, we believe that Ghana provides the perfect setting for French private investment.
