Nyce Media Set To Host Fancy Dress Cup In Winneba

As part of this year’s Fancy Dress Festival, Nyce Media (the official publicity and sponsorship agency for the Fancy Dress Festival) is organizing the Fancy Dress Intercommunity Cup. The 16-team competition will start this November and will end in January next year.

The Fancy Dress Festival is celebrated in Winneba on the 1st of January each year and it is a festival of competition among masquerading groups in Winneba. This Festival attracts more than Ten Thousand people to Winneba on the first day of each year.

This is the first time a football competition is being organized as part of the Fancy Dress Festival and its underpinning aim is to promote unity and peace among the people of Winneba while making the Fancy Dress Festival more attractive, fun and exciting.

Originally, the Fancy Dress Festival is organized on the 1st of January each year at the Advance Park as earlier indicated but because next year’s own falls on Sunday hence the Festival willbe held on the 2nd of January. The finals of the seven weeks Fancy Dress tournament will be played on  January 1 to pave way and heighten publicity for the Fancy Dress Festival Competition.

All matches shall be played on the Winneba United Park at Sankor in Winneba. The winner of the tournament shall take home the Fancy Dress Inter Community Cup trophy and GHC 1,200 cash.

The first runner-up will take home GHC700, whiles the second runner-up takes home GHC500 cash. The most discipline/fair play team of the tournament shall also take home GHC 400 cash.  The best coach, best goalkeeper, best player and goal king of the tournament shall receive GHC50 each.

Registration is now opened for the communities in Winneba. Registration forms can be obtained from the offices of Winneba United, at the Winneba United Park in Sankor, Winneba, between 8am and 5pm. Registration ends on November 10, 2016.

The Competition will be played among 16 communities in Winneba namely, Sankor, Fete, Adansi, Zongo, Kojo Beedu, Abasaraba, Ateitu , Nsuekyir , Victoria road/Nkwatanan, Domeabra , Low coste/Egyalodge , Winneba junction, New Winneba , Donkonyenim, Kwendrum and Roman church/father John/olawoso.

Each Community team is expected to register a maximum of 25 players. Registration fee is GHC100. The organizers shall refund GHC70 to teams that honors all their matches. 

Even though the Fancy Dress Cup is the first of its kind, Nyce Media has been the leading organizers of Football Competitions in Winneba. The R.C. Ekem Cup and the Aboakyer Cup were both organized by Nyce Media. Undoubtedly, the two competitions were a great success and they attracted a lot of media and showbiz personalities. The Fancy Dress Intercommunity Cup promises to be even more fun.
