Accept To Play By It Fair To Keep Nation Calm - NCCE

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has reminded all key actors in the December 07 polls to accept to play it fair to keep the nation calm.

Alhaji Alhassan Yakubu, the Ashanti Regional Director, said it was important for everybody to show good faith and demonstrate high level of sincerity.

He gave the reminder at a ‘focus group discussion’ at Nyinahin in the Atwima-Mponua District.

The programme was organized by the Commission with support from the European Union (EU) and the goal was to assist everybody to get right with the law.

It brought together representatives of the various political parties, religious and opinion leaders, youth groups and other civil society organizations.

Alhaji Yakubu asked that all accepted to play their expected roles well to ensure peaceful conduct of the election.

He advised the political parties and their supporters to avoid intolerance and doing anything to undermine the unity and stability of the nation.

Mr. Sotiris Bazikgebru, the EU Representative in Ghana, expressed confidence in the electoral system and said he had strong conviction that next month’s presidential and parliamentary elections would be another success.
