Chiefs in the Kwahu Traditional area have showered praises on Chief of Staff Julius Debrah for his exemplary leadership hat has made them proud.

They are particularly happy for his role in the introduction of paragliding and the development of tourism which has promoted the Kwahu area in general.

The Adontehene of Abefi, Nana Achamfuor Asiedu Agyemang III who is also the Acting Paramount Chief of the Kwahu Traditional area who was speaking during courtesy call on him by Mr Debrah who is on a campaign tour of the Eastern region said his elevation as Chief of Staff by President John Mahama does not only confirm what many in Ghana agree as a proactive leader but gives the people of Kwahu and its environs hope of more to Come to improve the ongoing development of the area.

Nana Asiedu Agyemang III wished President John Mahama's administration well in its endeavors and pleaded to his administration to consider carving a new region for the area to accelerate development.

"Kwahu is a huge area. We share boundary with Jejeti, part of the Afram Plains in the Volta region along the lake, part of the Brong Ahafo region and the Central region. We know government is building infrastructure and developing the area but we are optimistic a new region will enhance our expectations." The Abetifi Adontehene asked apparently pleading with the Chief of Staff to carry the message to the President to consider when President John Mahama is retained for his second term.

He also asked for a special priority for some major roads in the area.

In a brief response, the Chief of Staff promised to follow up on an earlier request to ensure the Department of Feeder roads address their concern.

He also spoke extensively on President Mahama's promise to prioritize he development of small and medium scale enterprises.

Mr Debrah said the people of Kwaku are already well known and respected for their entrepreneurship and urged the Chiefs to encourage the people especially the youth to take advantage of opportunities though the EXIM bank, MASLOC, YES and other outlets to raise capital.

He also assured the people of government's commitment to sustain its programme to open up the country but said the next four years will focus on job creation to improve the lives of the people.

"I plead and I believe our honourable Chiefs will support this laudable initiative by the President and advise our youth to buy into it for brighter prospects. Major government investments will go into that area and development of infrastructure will slow down." he added.

The Chiefs were particularly happy to see Professor Kwamena AHWOI who the acting Paramount Chief said they revere so much and is willing to share his rich experience.

Present at the brief encounter were Zongo Chiefs, constituency and regional executives led by their Chairman  Bismark Tawiah Boateng, the Deputy regional Minister, some former MMDCEs
and the East Akyem MCR Dr Simon Asirifi

Chief of Staff later introduced the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the area, Tabi Emmanuel and asked for blessings from the Traditional Council.

The Chief of Staff’s delegation which included Madam Faustina Nelson, Member of the NDC National Campaign Team, deputy Communications Minister, Ato Sarpong, Deputy NDC General Secretary Koku Anyidoho, National Communications Officer, Solomon Nkansah, Presidential Staffers Emelia Arthur and Presidential Aide Mawushie Dzirasah made a whistle stop at the Kwahu East District hospital which is under construction at Abetifi
