We Wont Be Distracted Kofi Boakye

Commissioner of Police (COP) Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Commander, has underlined the determination of the officers and men to remain politically neutral and professional in the performance of their duties.

He said they would not be distracted and continue to focus on the job of ensuring that there was adequate security protection for everybody.

He was inaugurating a new police station built at Afoako and two tent cities (posts) at Dominase and Poano in the Amansie Central District and Bekwai Municipality, at separate ceremonies.

The Afoako station comes with offices for the station officer, criminal investigations department (CID), conference hall, male and female cells, exhibit, store and washrooms.

The Amansie Central District Assembly and the Amansie West Rural Bank provided the funding.

COP Boakye called for the people to show good understanding, support and cooperate with the police to ensure the peaceful conduct of next month’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

He counseled that they stepped back from anything that could create confusion on voting day, adding that, nobody would be allowed to undermine the credibility of the polls.

He said they would act swiftly and decisively to neutralize any trouble makers.

COP Boakye applauded the assembly and the bank for providing the structures, noting that, these would increase police visibility to deter criminals.

He reminded officers posted to those places to avoid doing anything to dent the image of the service.

They should ensure discipline and work with zeal to reduce crime in the area to win the confidence of the people.
