UEW SRC organises "Meet Your Leaders" Forum

The President of the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Education, Winneba, Mr Saeed Abdul-Faruk has asked students leaders to desist from unacceptable behaviours such as hooliganism and rioting, which he said were out of contest. Rather they must embrace healthy debate, dialogue and lobbying as leadership hallmarks. Mr. Abdul-Faruk made the request at the maiden edition of "Meet Your Leaders", series for students of the University in Winneba. It was in fulfilment of his manifesto to offer students the opportunity to air their views and concerns for redress. Touching on on-going projects, he said construction of the SRC hostel was progressing steadily to ease accommodation challenges facing students on campus. Mr. Abdul-Faruk said the SRC had acquired and installed public address systems. He said inability of most students to pay their SRC dues had stifled development and appealed to the University authorities to help his outfit collect the money. The Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers on Campus, Mr Michael Owusu assured members that arrears of their emoluments owed them would be paid by the end of November. During an open forum, some of the students appealed to the University authorities to release examination results on time to safe them from the inconvenience associated with it.
