Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known Chairman Wontumi says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will resist any attempt by Madam Charlotte Osei, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission to rig the elections in favour of the ruling NDC.

According to him, Charlotte Osei is ignorant as far as elections are concerned and ‘she’s doing everything to frustrate voters”

The NPP Ashanti regional chairman was reacting to voters who are taking part in the special voting today as well as reports that some of the names cannot be found in the register.

He said after going round to various centres, he is sure that there is a deliberate attempt by the EC to frustrate voters because “why will the Electoral Commission release voting centres for the special voting on Wednesday when voting is on Thursday?”.

“A lot of voters here (Kumasi) are frustrated. They don’t know where to go…and even those who know their centres can’t find their names in the register. If she (Charlotte Osei) decides to rig the elections for the NDC, we will not allow it…most of the names are not in the register and others are lost; they don’t even know where to go…the EC are frustrating the voters. Charlotte Osei does not know anything” he stated in an interview on UTV, Thursday.

The special voting exercise has taken off this (Thursday, 1st December, 2016) morning.

Over 127,394 special voters, made up of security personnel, electoral commission officials and the media, are casting their votes at designated polling centers across the country.
