NDC Activist killed � Party Wants Justice

One National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist is reported dead in Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality.

The deceased whose only name is given as Ayoma, is reported to have been hit in the head with a stick by a herbal medicine seller, one Atta, who was in the company of jubilant NPP supporters who took to the streets to celebrate the party’s victory in last Wednesday’s general elections.

Ayoma, kasapafmonline.com understands, is a well known head potter in the area.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Dunkwa-On-Offin Government Hospital on the night of December 9, 2016. His remains has since been deposited at the same hospital with a complaint lodged at the Dunkwa District Police Station.

The Central Regional arm of the governing NDC in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Kwesi Dawood, urged the Regional Police Command to expedite action on this “latest attacks on our members”.

“We call on the Dunkwa Police to transfer the case to the Regional Police Command in Cape Coast for further investigation. This cannot be an out of Court settlement, we need justice for our brother and friend,” the statement in part read.

It also urged the leadership of the NPP to do well to call their supporters in the Region to order in order to avoid any reprisal attacks from their members.
