NPP Regional Chairman Condemns Attack On NDC Supporters
I wish to condemn unreservedly any act of violence on the part of any person, I want to place on record that our checks have proven that such dastard acts are not being undertaken by real supporters of the NPP.
It is our suspicion that the unfortunate act is being perpetrated by people who have masqueraded as NPP supporters but do not belong to the elephant fraternity.
It is absurd to say the least that party supporters who are in jubilant mood and are happy as a result of the victory of their party will embark on destruction of property and attack on their opponents.
Information available to us indicates that some disgruntled supporters of the NDC have disguised themselves as NPP supporters and are going round attacking innocent persons just to create bad image for our party.
As a party that believes and upholds multi-party democracy, we believe that elections must not divide us as people but should rather strengthen our cause for engagement in battle of policies and ideology and not violent.
I therefore charge the security agencies to act swiftly and bring to book any person found to be engaging in such illegality and let the law deal justly with them.
