NPP Victory Song Pops Up Lucky Mensah Hits Road Again

Lucky Mensah has released a brand new highlife song to thank God and Ghanaians for the electoral victory of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The track, titled ‘Aseda’, was officially released in Accra on Monday and Lucky Mensah visited the residence of Nana Akufo-Addo, the president-elect, to congratulate and give him a copy of the CD.

“We have to thank God for the victory because we fought a ballet and when we were fighting, we believed God and kept saying the battle was for the Lord’s. The song also says a big thank you to all Ghanaians irrespective of their political coloration. The lyrics make mention of our leaders, including President John Mahama, and thanks everyone who played a role in the elections our country just had. This week, we would start work on the video and we hope by close of week, it would be on our television stations,” Lucky Mensah told NEWS-ONE on Monday.

Stars Campaign

The musician insisted the celebrity endorsements enjoyed by the NPP played a role in the victory it had.

“We were not only endorsing the NPP and releasing campaign songs, some of us were out there on the campaign platforms actually explaining why we endorsed the NPP and why we were asking Ghanaians to vote for Nana Addo.

“I personally toured the whole of Kumasi with Chairman Wontumi, I cris-crossed the country with Sammy Awuku and his deputy, I became an evangelist of the gospel of the NPP and there were times we did not sleep for days, just campaigning for the NPP,” Lucky Mensah stated.

Lucky Mensah was part of a group known as ‘Creative Arts for Change’, a pro-NPP group of stakeholders from Ghana’s creative arts sector, spearheaded by movie maker Socrate Safo.

NPP Holds Thanksgiving

NEWS-ONE has picked reports that the NPP on Sunday, December 18, will hold a mega thanksgiving service at the Accra Sports Stadium to show appreciation to God and also officially usher the party and the president-elect into the hands of God.
