November: Inflation Dips

Acting Government Statistician Baah Wadieh has revealed that the inflation rate for November is 15.5 per cent, down from the 15.8 per cent recorded in October.

According to him, the inflation rate for two groups, food and non-food, contributed to the decline of inflation in November.

At a press conference in Accra on Wednesday December 14, Mr Wadieh announced that the food inflation rate for November 2016 was 9.3 per cent, compared with 8.7 per cent recorded in October 2016, whereas the non-food inflation rate for November 2016 was 18.7 per cent, compared with 19.4 per cent recorded in October 2016.

He further indicated that the inflation rate for imported items was 16.2 per cent in November 2016, compared with 17.3 per cent recorded in October 2016. The rate for locally produced items was 15.2 per cent in November 2016, compared with 15.1 per cent recorded in October 2016.
