My Hotness Is For God Dede

She is not a household name yet but gospel musician Abigail Dede Nartey is already receiving cynical comments about her appearance.

Gold teeth, big hairdo, high heels and body-hugging dresses are regular elements of her look  and anyone seeing her for the first time could easily point to her as  a  ‘naughty’ girl.

According to the light-skinned lady, when she steps out to perform in churches or grants interviews  on radio, all what she hears is that she is too hot for a gospel musician.

To be ‘hot’ is slang for sexiness or attractiveness.

“I have had radio presenters telling me to do dancehall or hiplife because I have the swag and look too hot to do gospel because of my appearance,” the musician told Showbiz.

To her, it is wrong for anyone to judge her by her appearance because her heart is pure.

“I can’t stop dressing or looking hot. It is all for God and I don’t see why anyone should have a problem with that,” she added.

She explained that the many comments about the way she carries herself will not deter her from doing gospel music because all she wants is to change lives with her music.

On her current song titled Obrempon, Dede thanks God for her life and for taking care of her till now.

Dede, who is in her mid-20s, said she would not mind working with secular musicians like Shatta Wale, Samini and Stonewoy because she believes she can win many souls with them.

“I see no problem with working with secular musicians so far as they come with clean lyrics. Many people look down on gospel musicians collaborating with secular musicians but I don’t really mind whatever anyone says, “she stated.

Dede, who is also a beautician and admires gospel musicians Joyce Blessing, Obaapa Christy, Sonny Badu and Cecilia Marfo pointed out that her anointing-filled debut album will be out soon.

She said she was grateful to her manager Esty, Bishop Daniel Obinim, Prophet Samuel Nana Amoateng and all others who have helped her music career so far.

In five years to come, the pretty singer wants to see herself rubbing shoulders with seasoned gospel musicians in this country.
