The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) has lauded president-Elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo first appointment of his ministers as well as some presidential staffers.

The group expressed extreme happiness with the quality of appointments made so far by the President-Elect – particularly by naming Madam Frema Opare as Ghana’s first female Chief of Staff.

“AFAG appreciate the quality of appointments made so far by President-Elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. As an institution that cherishes good governance, we are impressed with the brilliant men and women of substance that would be manning the office of the president” a
statement copied to Peacefmonline.com reads

Nana Akufo-Addo who has been dropping names of members of his in-coming government, yesterday revealed some staffs of his incoming administration.

They are mainly his staff at the Presidency and include 69-year old Frema Opare, a labour expert and former legislator who becomes Ghana's first female Chief of Staff.

Of her two deputies, is 33-year-old Samuel Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso-Boakye, a political assistant to Akufo-Addo over the years.

Other security appointments include Brigadier General Emmanuel Okyere, a Military Engineer, National Security Advisor; Security Expert and former Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) Director, Joshua Kyeremeh, has been also been named the National Security Co-ordinator.

However, AFAG in a statement urged the President-elect to include the youth in his administration after describing his recent appointment as “excellent”

1st Female Chief of Staff and Youth Inclusion Excellent

AFAG appreciate the quality of appointments made so far by President-Elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. As an institution that cherishes good governance, we are impressed with the brilliant men and women of substance that would be manning the office of the president.

The appointment of the first female Chief of Staff is laudable and it deserves commendation of the highest esteem. Also, the inclusion of vibrant and result orientated youth who distinguished themselves in service to the nation should also be celebrated. These sharp young minds must be properly nurtured by the best senior citizens to ensure the continuity of the moral fiber of our Ghanaian society.

AFAG urge the President-Elect and the appointing authority to look within the pool of the NPP to ensure that young people of excellent standard and virtue that form a sizeable number of the human resource at the nation's disposal are identified nurtured.
