The Yilo Krobo Traditional Council, at a solemn press conference, on Wednesday, at Somanya, formally announced the death of Kpetekple Narh Dawutey Ologo the VI, Paramount Chief of the Traditional Area, who died on May 7, this year. Osayem Tetteh Odonkor Tuumeh, Acting President of the Yilo Krobo Traditional Council, in breaking the sad news said the necessary customary rites had been performed, adding that, the day, which had some significance as far as the communication with the living and dead was concerned, in Yilo Krobo, was chosen to perform the ceremony. Osayem Tuumeh said Kpetekple Ologo, who until May Seven this year, was also the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, "has gone to the ancestral Village." The Traditional Council has scheduled December One to 15 for the burial and funeral rites. December One, is scheduled for home coming by all Yilo Citizens; and December Two, marks the beginning of the funeral celebration; bringing Kpetekple home is on December Three and Four; Laying in State and Internment is December Five and December Six to 15 is for final funeral rites. The late Kpetekple Dawutey Ologo VI, known in private life as Cephas Kwame Narh, was born on October 10, 1937 at Akyem Maase. His parents, Emmanuel Kwame Dawutey and Sarah Dede Yomor, both of blessed memory, were from the Sra Langmasi Royal Clan of the Yilo Krobo Traditional area. Nene Dawutey Ologo had his Primary and Middle Education at Maase Methodist School from 1943-1952. He attended the Takoradi Government Secondary/Technical School from 1953-1957 and proceeded to the Prempeh College for his sixth form course. His performance at Prempeh College was so outstanding that he was appointed as a Mathematics tutor in the school from 1960 to 1962. He won a Government Scholarship in 1963 and went overseas for further studies. From 1963-1970, he was at the Prague Technical University in Czechoslovakia, where he obtained his Bachelor Science and Masters in Science degrees in Electrical Engineering. Between 1970 and 1972, he moved to Germany where he specialized in Hospital Engineering and obtained his postgraduate qualification in that field. He was enstooled Konor of Yilo Krobo Traditional area in the year 1978 under the stool name Kpetekple Narh Dawutey Ologo VI to succeed Nene Padi Keteku Akrobetu the third. He held various positions: the Vice President- Eastern Regional House of Chiefs; President-Eastern Regional House of Chiefs; member of the National House of Chiefs; Chairman of the Research Committee of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs and Member of the National House of Chiefs Research Committee. Nene was also a member of the Board of Directors of GIHOC; Tema Steel Works; from 1981-1982, a member of the Council of State from 1997-2000. He was a recipient of the State Award of "Order of the Volta Companion Division in 2008".
