I'm Not Impressed With Nana Addo's Ministerial Appointments Kofi Adams

National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says he is not impressed about the ministerial appointments made by President Nana Akufo-Addo so far.

According to Kofi Adams, the creation of new ministries and the separation of existing ones is enough attestation of the president's lack of experience to govern. The creation of the Ministries of Monitoring and Evaluation and Regional Reorganisation and the appointment of the Senior Minister has generated a lot of controversy with many political pundits arguing that it is duplication of roles.

Though President Akufo-Addo has explained the rationale behind those ministries, the opposition NDC has accused him of creating such ministries to reward his friends and cronies in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In support, Kofi Adams on Adom FM Thursday questioned the essence of creating new ministries especially when there have been calls for Ghana to have a lean government.

He indicated that, the re-introduction of the Senior Minister portfolio was unnecessary and counter-productive.

The NDC National Organizer noted that, the creation of new ministries was a recipe for duplication of roles and a drain on public resources, a development that is inimical to socio-economic development.

Kofi Adams said President Akufo-Addo is vindicating their claim that his administration will be characterized by 'trial and error' governance.
