Vetting of ministerial nominees will continue on Monday, January 30, 2017, following the brief suspension of the activities of the Appointments Committee.
The Committee was scheduled to break on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 and resume sitting on Thursday, January 26, 2017.
However, for unknown reasons, the Committee chaired by the 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Osei Owusu, had to suspend its activities and resume on January, 2017.
Three nominees expected to appear before on January 30, 2017. They are Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei, Ministers designate for Monitoring and Evaluation, Ms Otikoa Afisah Djaba, Ministers designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection, and Daniel Kwaku Botwe, Minister-designate for Regional Reorganisation and Development.
On Tuesday, January 31, 2017, three additional nominees have been scheduled to appear before the Committee.
They include; John Peter Amewu, Ministers designate for Lands and Natural Resources, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Minister-designate for Employment and Labour Relations, and Samuel Atta Akyea, Ministers designate for Works and Housing.
The Committee will on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, also host Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Ministers designate for Communications, Joseph Kofi Adda, Ministers designate for Sanitation and Water Resources, and Kwasi Amoako-Atta, Ministers designate for Roads and Highways.
On February 2, 2017, the Committee will again subject three nominees to questioning over issues related to the ministries they have been designated to.
The three include; Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, Ministers designate for Transport, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, Ministers designate for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation and Joe Ghartey, Ministers designate for Railway Development.
