Kotoko Outdoors 10 Newly-Signed Players

The Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko S/C on Thursday held a ceremony to outdoor its newly signed players, barely 48 hours to the start of the 2016/2017 Ghana’s Premier League.

The new signings include Kwame Boahen, Isaac Quansah, Prince Acquah, Abass Mohammed, Baba Mohammed, Yakubu Mohammed, Ashitey Ollenu, Seth Opare, Awudu Nafiu and Ibrahim Danladi.

Mr. Ernest Owusu-Ansah, the Club’s Operations Manager, said they were among the best and the nation’s finest.
The expectation is that they would help to strengthen the team – to become more formidable.

The Operations Manager said Kotoko was eager to rediscover its previous strong and all-conquering form that put fear in its opponents - to dominate Africa football.

He rallied the supporters to stand solidly behind the team and turn out in their numbers to watch and cheer the players to victory in their matches.

Mr. Yaw Boafo, the Legal Officer and Management Member, indicated that all legal requirements relating to the transfer of the new players had been met. All financial commitments had also been sorted, he said, adding that, outstanding payments to the old players had been fully settled.

Kotoko’s Croatian Coach, Zdravko Logarusic, said the team was in for serious business and would approach each match with a winning mentality - grab the three points.

The Porcupine Warriors begin their opening league match on Sunday, when they clash with Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
