Jomoro MP Rolls Out Developmental Agenda

The Member of Parliament(MP) for Jomoro, Mr Paul Essien has rolled out a number of social intervention policies to better the living conditions of people in his constituencies.

According to him,good leadership by responding to the needs of the people through job creation and regular visits to push the developmental agenda forward was his focal point.

Mr Essien, a former Assembly member for the Tikobo No.1 electoral area and a teacher by profession, was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.

On job creation,he said apart from the one District, one factory policy of the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government, he was making frantic efforts in his capacity as an MP to acquire a large tract of land for cultivation to plant onion to give employment to the youth.

To promote education in the area, the MP said he would organise "what do you know quizzes" for basic and second cycle institutions on regular basis. Best teacher award would also be organized on zonal basis to reward the efforts of hardworking teachers.

Still on education,the MP added that each student in the constituency would receive ten exercise books annually in addition to the free Senior High School policy.

Mr Essien emphasised that he would continue to respect the rights of the electorate and always try to meet their expectations.
