In line with Section 14 (2) of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012, President Nana Akufo-Addo appointed Fatimatu Abubakar as Deputy Communications Director at the Office of the President.
The news has been met with joy by the Professional Patriots of Ghana (PPG), an advocacy group that has closely worked with Fatimatu Abubakar before.
In a release sent to Peacefmonline.com, the group expressed gratitude to President Nana Akufo-Addo for recognizing the effort of Fatimatu Abubakar and trusting her with a position in his government.
Ms. Fatimatu Abubakar, a young entrepreneur and communications expert is expected to serve in an acting capacity pending approval by the yet-to-be sworn in Council of State.

The Executives and Members of the Professional Patriots of Ghana (PPG) with delirious joy congratulate you on your appointment as the Deputy Communications Director at the Office of the President.
We are not surprised about your appointment, having worked with you very closely over the years.
During the 2016 Electioneering campaign, you exhibited your trait as a hardworking patriot by effectively combining your role as a campaign aide to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party and President/Leader of PPG.
We are encouraged by your passion and desire to volunteer your time and resources in the course of the New Patriotic Party. Despite your busy schedule, we were always amazed by how you led the group to mobilise resources and logistics with ease and at short notice to propel our activities.
Your humility, integrity and good sense of humour endears you to even your fiercest critic. We are exceedingly proud to have you as our sister, friend and leader.
