Poor Educational Standards Discussed

The Keta Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Education Directorate are exploring ways to halt falling standards of education and poor Basic Education Certificate Examination results in the area. Mr Sylvester Tornyeava, Keta Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the situation was a direct opposite of what pertained in the past. He was speaking at a ceremony to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church and schools in Anloga at the weekend. It was under the theme; "Yahweh Our God - Your Love is Unfailing". Mr Tornyeava expressed the hope that the Church would continue to supplement efforts at accelerating growth and development of the country. He asked members of the Church and heads of the schools to let the vision of the founders of the Church reflect in their endeavours. Reverend Father James Mikado, Parish Priest, called for strong collaboration between traditional authorities and the church towards the development of the area.A total of Gh�3,800 was realized in an appeal for funds.
