Begging Nana Konadu To Return Will Be The Last Thing We Will Do - NDC

The Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says begging the former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to return to the party will be the last thing they will do on earth.

Anthony Nukpenu stated emphatically that, the party has become bigger and attractive after the exit of Mrs. Rawlings.

The NDC man’s comment is in reaction to a call on the party to reconsider their stance on the former first lady who is also the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDP).

Mr. Enoch Teye Mensah who is the former Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram is convinced the NDC stances a better chance of winning the 2020 general elections if Mrs. Rawlings returns to the opposition party.

But this arguement, Anthony Nukpenu on Asempa FM Monday vehemently disagrees.

He explained that the NDC since the exit of Nana Konadu has been very attractive thus will be politically suicidal to ask her to return. However, if the former first lady wishes to returns to the party, she can do so by joining the NDC train from the back seat.

"We don't need her, the NDC will not go begging her. She can join this train from the back seat“ he fumed.

The NDC Regional Organizer maintained that there are still committed people working for the party, therefore they cannot bring these old wagons to lord over us“.

Anthony Nukpenu maintained that there are so many young people who have put their fortunes on the line and are committed to building the NDC in opposition.
