Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta the Minister of Finance, has said the National Sports College (NSC), will be transformed into a center of Excellence for Sports Development.

This was presented in the 2017 budget presented to Parliament on Thursday.

According to the Finance Minister, the target will be achieved through the Public Private Partnership (PPP).

He said ‘‘in the area of sports development, feasibility studies will be completed to facilitate the expansion of the infrastructure stock and transform the National Sports College into a Centre of Excellence, through Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements’’.

Mr. Ofori Atta said additional efforts will be made to support other disciplines at the basic level.

The National Sports College was established to offer opportunities to the sports industry in the country and provide careers to individuals in the sports sector.

Also, the college trains and develops various persons for Sports Development and promotes sports discipline in Ghana.

The Sports College provides the necessary tools and facilities that help the youth and individuals to acquire appropriate knowledge and skills for Sports.
